Introducing Kat…
Sunday 7 September, 2008 · Posted by Raj Gupta
Last week I announced the exciting news that Kat Stevenson will be joining us as our Children’s Minister in 2009.
I wish I could share the details with you about how God has been at work to make this a reality. The nature of this kind of expansion requires a number of factors to come together simultaneously. This is what God has done. One example is the external seed funding that generous Christian people from outside of our church are providing. Another example are the opportunities for continued growth of God’s kingdom that have been emerging over the course of this year.
But in the end, the most important thing that God has done is providing Kat. God works through people, and we are privileged that she has agreed to join our church community and staff team. On Sunday I was struck that so many already know Kat and her ministry, and that they were so excited that she is joining us. I have been at various conferences in recent days, and many from outside of our have commented how fortunate we are that Kat is joining us. We are indeed blessed by God.
She will come with over 12 years of experience in youth and children’s ministry, including the co-ordination of all of the Children’s programs at CMS (both large and small). Kat’s godliness and her love for all people, particularly children, is evident within minutes of meeting her. Her approach to ministry is biblical and thought out, and with much experience. We are privileged that she is joining us.
Kat will be getting married to Steve Harris in late February. They will live locally and will be part of our Sunday Night Church.
I do hope that you can see God working at TAC. People’s lives are being changed by Jesus. And behind the scenes God is working powerfully, as this example shows. You cannot help but wonder what he might do in the future. Praise God.
Raj
