Introducing our New Kids Club

This time last year, we were dreaming about employing our first ever Children’s Minister. We saw the opportunity that God has laid on our doorstep to expand and multiply our ministries to children.
As part of our strategy process, we identified children as a priority for us as a church, particularly given the area in which we find ourselves.
It is still an overwhelming story to see how God worked to bring Kat among us.
As the dream began to become a reality, earlier this year we ran our very first Kids Holiday Club. An amazing time was had by all, as children learnt about Jonah and in particular grasped the concept that ‘you can’t run away from God.’
It was a great time, and we became quite aware of what we already suspected as we considered the impact of this remarkable ministry. While a Holiday Kids Club is a great thing to do and the benefits were obvious to all involved, a weekly after school Kids Club has even greater potential.
Jesus spent 3 years discipling his followers, teaching them, sharing his life and being a role model for His disciples. Jesus set for us a discipleship model in which to share the gospel and also help people to grow. We have a similar opportunity with our children.
Accordingly, we are very excited to announce that a new regular After School Kids Club will commence in term 4!
It will meet weekly on a Tuesday afternoon from 4-5:30pm, for children in Kindergarten to Year 6. Brochures will be available soon.
Already an excellent team of committed leaders is beginning to take shape. Please pray for them as they plan and prepare for this exciting venture. If you would like to be involved as either a leader or a helper, please contact Kat.
For all of us, this is an opportunity to think of children we know who may be interested.
It used to be the case that most children in the community were part of Sunday School (even if there parents were not part of church). This means that the majority of the adult population today had a Christian foundation. For many, it provides an invaluable foundation as they hear about Jesus as an adult.
But with children today it is different. This after school Kids Club is a wonderful opportunity to provide the people of the future with a Christian foundation, and to have some fun together as they do.
Praise God for this initiative. We continue to say – things are looking good at TAC.
