Launching 2010
Sunday 17 January, 2010 · Posted by Raj Gupta
I hope you are excited our church for 2010.
We really had a remarkable year in 2009, and I hope you can see how God has been working so wonderfully in our midst. God’s work has already continued, even as we begin 2010.
I recently invited our local State Member, Nathan Rees, to be with us as we formally launch 2010 at our church, and I am delighted to say that he has accepted our invitation.
Mr Rees will be with us for our 9.45 Family Church on Sunday 7th February. Following church, there will be a BBQ lunch.
I’ll take this opportunity to invite and encourage all from our church community to come and join us. Even if you cannot come to 9.45 church on that day, please come and join us for lunch.
It will be a wonderful time of celebration and giving thanks to God for what he has done, and praying that he will continue to work among us.
The Bible exhorts Christians being the salt and the light of the world (Matthew 5:13-14). Ultimately, of course, this is about sharing the good and powerful news of Jesus with our world, for there is no greater light.
And we are already making an impact in our local community. I regularly hear comments about the stimulating messages on our noticeboard, appreciation from many about the activities and opportunities available at our church, a growing awareness of Jesus and the Bible, and the list goes on.
All of these are terrific steps. This is the type of thing that is involved in being the light of the world, and it is wonderful that our local State representative will be with us as we formally launch our year ahead.
I apologise that he is not available to join us for our other congregations. Sunday Night Church is planning its own launch in the evening of the same day. Nevertheless, I do hope many will take the opportunity to join us in the morning for this special time.
