Lifeworks and the archbishop’s vision

This week Margaret, Neil & I attended the Western area Clergy Conference. At it, Archbishop Peter Jensen led two sessions reporting on progress with his vision for Sydney Diocese. The archbishop reported that at various levels the Diocese was moving into "Mission Mode "as it sought to implement the Archbishop's vision.

He stressed that the vision of "10% of the population of the Diocese in bible-based Christian churches in 10 years "could only be achieved by a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit through the prayer of people in the Diocese. Also the vision could only be achieved at the grass roots level of the local parish churches. People are converted through individuals being introduced to our Lord by other individuals.

Our embracing of Lifeworks is right in line with this. We are a local church which is taking the Gospel to our local community. Our admittedly considerable effort is backed up with our prayers that our great God will bless our endeavours.

So far we believe that God has indeed answered our prayers and honoured our efforts. The two meetings so far have gone excellently. Let's thank our God and thank those who have labored to serve our God in this way and let's continue to pray that the rest of the programme will indeed continue to be blessed and that people will come to know our Lord as their Lord and Saviour.
