Maintaining mission momentum
Sunday 17 October, 2004 · Posted by Philip Bassett
No doubt you will remember that back in February this year we presented our vision for the future of Toongabbie Anglican Church under the title A Way forward. We presented the Toongabbie Anglican Church Threefold Mission Statement which is:
1. BRINGING people into Gods Kingdom
2. BUILDING members towards Christian maturity
3. SENDING believers into the world to proclaim Christ as Lord and Saviour. All . . . .To Glorify God
Today, and for the next few weeks, we will be revisiting our own vision and the Diocesan Mission under the heading Maintaining Mission Momentum.
The Western Sydney Regional Council has prepared a presentation that looks at various aspects of the diocesan mission policy and how some of the churches in our region have responded to it. Our archbishop, Peter Jensen, and our local bishop, Ivan Lee, both speak about the mission and we are invited to discuss a number of questions which will hopefully help us to focus on how we at Toongabbie can respond to the mission.
We hope that you will find the sessions helpful, encouraging and perhaps challenging as we consider how we can go forward, not just as one local church, but in concert with other churches in our region and indeed with our whole diocese.
