Moving on…

Tim and Leah Adams share their plans for 2007.
Dear Toongabbie Anglican Church,
It has been a pleasure to have been a member of this church over the past 14 years, particularly in the last 3 years as an MTS apprentice and Student Minister. At the beginning of this year, Leah and I decided to embark on a four year journey to train for ministry, by enrolling at Moore Theological College. The training has been fantastic so far, but unfortunately sometimes it comes at a cost. And in this case the cost affects you, our church family. As part of our training journey, Moore recommends that we experience ministry in a church other than our home church. Therefore we have decided that next year we will be leaving Toongabbie Anglican Church and accepting a Student Minister position at Macquarie Anglican Church. Many of you will know that the Senior Minister there is Roger Bray, and the Assistant Minister is Keith Baker – both of whom were previously members of Toongabbie Anglican. We’ll be involved in one of their family services, and are looking forward serving and growing in a new ministry context.
When you think about it, our moving on is actually fulfilling the final part of our church vision statement – “Sending”. Having “brought” me into the church 14 years ago, you have now “built” us up, and are now “sending” us out to proclaim God’s kingdom in a different part of Sydney. Please continue to pray for us as we do this.
We will always consider Toongabbie Anglican as our home church. We hope to drop in from time to time, and we’ll continue to support you in prayer.
Yours in Christ
Tim & Leah Adams
