Oh What a Night!

I write this article during an amazing week, when preparations for the Men’s Dinner held last night have been in full swing.
1 Corinthians 12 speaks of the body of Christ comprising of many different parts. All parts belong to the same body. It is essential for the different parts to work together. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them. And the different gifts have been given all for the common good.
People across our church have been busily using their gifts in recent weeks and months. So much effort has gone into the dinner of last night. It has been a wonderful example of people using their complementary gifts and abilities, and working together for the sake of Christ. For some it has been organizational. For others it has been cooking. For others it has been set up. For others it has been teaching. For others it is serving and waiting. The list goes on. It is very exciting to ponder what God has been doing among us.
But let’s not forget about the common good that we have been working together for. It is the end of seeing ‘that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow …. and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord’ (Philippians 2:10-11). This is the end to which the Apostle Paul laboured, and this is the reason that God has left us in this world. His work is now that the kingdom be built up and out (Ephesians 4:12), and it is delightful to see this happening in our midst. Please thank God for the efforts of so many, and pray that they will quickly recuperate.
The greatest excitement is hearing the stories of people being invited, even those who don’t end up coming. God is able to powerfully work within people. And we don’t know the seed he is sowing. This is all the more reason that it is now critical that we pray for God’s continued work.
Let us not forget about the exciting weeks we have coming up at TAC. Please continue to pray that Satan would not get a foothold among us, and for unity.
If the way people have worked together in recent times is any indication, our future at TAC is looking great. Praise God for his kindness.
