On the sidelines?

Friends,
I’ll take this opportunity this week to say how encouraged and impressed I am with the functioning of the body of Christ at TAC. The biblical model is that God has poured out his gifts on people – different gifts on different people. And all have a responsibility to use them in serving the Gospel (cf 1 Corinthians 12). As people use their different gifts, so the collective body is built up and out.
In only a few weeks this kind of work is so evident at TAC. Some among us are involved in teaching the Word to adults, youth and children. Others sing. Others have expertise in technical and computer things (I think our website is one of the best church websites around!). Each week some people come in to print this newsletter. Others serve by taking the bins out of a Sunday night, and others bring them in. Others paint (doesn’t the front wall look fantastic?). The list goes on and on.
At almost every turn in the last few weeks I have met people who have been so willing to use their God given gifts in his service. It has been so encouraging.
And yet the challenges go on. Many of our ministries desperately need more people to be involved so that they can expand and impact more people. Perhaps you have been sitting on the sidelines wondering how you can contribute. Perhaps you have been sitting on the sidelines oblivious to the needs. I become more aware of more needs with each passing week. As the Bible says: ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few’ (Matthew 9:37).
How is it that you can be involved in the most important activity in our world?
God bless,
Raj
