Palm Sunday

Brothers and sisters,
Today, we celebrate Palm Sunday, the first day of the last moments in the ministry of Jesus before His death and resurrection.
The sequence of events during the week has been debated, but the following outline would probably satisfy most New Testament commentators:
Sunday: Jesus rode into Jerusalem from Bethany on a donkey, fulfilling Zechariah 9:9.
Monday: Jesus drove out the traders and money-changers from the Court of the Gentiles in the temple.
Tuesday: A day of controversy and teaching in the temple and later on the Mount of Olives.
Wednesday: Not mentioned in the gospels, but we could assume that Jesus spent the day resting in Bethany.
Thursday: In the evening, Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples in a rented upper room in Jerusalem. Late that night, or early Friday morning, Jesus made His way to the Garden of Gethsemane.
Friday: Following Jesus’ arrest, He endured a gruelling series of six separate trials. Although Pilate found no fault with Jesus, he handed Him over to be crucified. Between 9:00am and 12:00pm, Jesus spoke three times from the cross. Darkness engulfed Jerusalem from noon until 3:00pm. Jesus spoke four more times between 3:00pm and when He died sometime before sunset.
Sunday: God raised Jesus from the dead!
Why not spend some time this week reading of all that Jesus said and did for you and me?
