The latest prayer and praise points from Mark & Carol Grieve with CMS in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Praise Points
The Bush camp for the male students which was a wonderful time of bonding and being inspired to live for God.
The Launch for the homless ministry which although small in number has generated support in many ways
Prayer Points
We are going away for the first two weeks in December down to the coast. Please pray for a safe journey and stay for all of us.
For all those on the streets at this time of year. For Gods power to bring about reconciliation with families and strength to defeat drug addictions.
If you would like to support us through prayer, finance or pastoral care please contact CMS; Level 5 Druitt St, Sydney.
Men’s Bush Camp
Our final camp for the year involved only the guys (much to the ladies dismay). We decided to tough it out in the bush, sleep in tents and kill real live chickens for dinner. The activities were also extreme, with raft building, paintball, severe obstacle courses and horse riding. Amidst all the bravado we did 4 main talks on what it means to be a Valiant man. Looking at the life of Joseph, Saul (negative example) Caleb and David. We also had some wonderful informal sharing times around the fire.
All in all this camp has been the highlight of the year for me. One of our new students, gave his life to the Lord on the last day of the camp. Others were moved to recommit to a more sincere and faithful walk with God.
International Bible Study
We have had a great time in bible study this year. Meeting at our house on a Wednesday night our group involves mainly young workers, those who have recently left university. We have recently studied the roles of males and females in the home and church and are now moving on to look at topics such as suffering and culture.
Out of the 12 of us the following nationalities are represented; Australian, South African, Namibian, Botswanan, Gabonian, Nigerian, American, and Ireland. Truly Johannesburg is a multinational place.
Big thankyou’s
For all the support we have received this year we want to express our deepest thanks. Special thanks to all those who have written, emailed and sent letters, birthday cards and gifts for our family.
We look forward to seeing you in person next year.
God bless.
Mark and Carol Grieve
