One of the positive spin offs from the Lifeworks programme has been the raised profile of and increased participation in prayer in our church. Many more people are joining together to pray not only for Lifeworks but for many other things as well.

Next Wednesday, 4th September, is our quarterly Parish Prayer Night. It is the first of these nights organized by the recently formed Prayer Strategy Group and I encourage you to come and join in praying for our church and its activities, our outreach to our community and the spread of the Gospel in our world.

Our great God has given us the gift of prayer, not just for us to bring the concerns of our lives before him, but for us to participate in his saving work throughout the world. It is a great encouragement to us all to meet together with our Christian brothers and sisters and join in this vital ministry.
