Over the last few years, one of the many blessings that God has given to our church has been the opportunity to upgrade our facilities.

If you are relatively new to TAC, you may not realise the works that have been done over the last two years. These works include the air conditioning of the auditorium, completion of the driveway, and landscaping between the church auditorium and hall. We now have a budget each year to allow the gradual upgrade of other things. This year this money was spent on the new seats.

For a few years now, we have supported the work of Aspect Australia that provides support to the families of autistic children. It continues to be our privilege to make our hall available to them rent free each Wednesday.

Both they and us have felt the impact of our growing needs for more storage facilities. We are thankful to God that they have agreed to fund almost all of the materials cost for a large garden shed to be erected. The proposed location is on the vacant land next to the lower car park, next to the fence of Donny’s house. We are currently clarifying if Local Council approval is necessary.

In addition to this project, we recently became aware of what is called the ‘Community Building Partnership Grant.’ This is a State Government grant, arising from its recent financial stimulus package. The idea is to improve local community facilities.

Our Parish Council was unanimous in deciding to lodge an application to fund the cost of the installation of a commercial dishwasher in the lower kitchen, as well as air conditioning in the lower hall. I have since met with a representative of our local State Member’s office about our application. Successful applicants will not be announced until early December.

Both of these are potentially timely opportunities for us to accelerate the continual the process of upgrading our facilities. I wanted to let you know what is happening in these areas in part to ask for your prayers. God is sovereign over all things, including the workings of the Government. Please pray, if required, that the Local Council DA process would go smoothly. And please pray that our application for the above mentioned State Government grant would be successful.

And above all please pray that, should God answer our prayers in the affirmative, that we may use these improved facilities in ways that bring glory to God.
