Weekly Blurb Update from Tim

Update from Tim

Sunday 16 May, 2004 · Posted by Tim Adams

Its Tim here, your part time MTS apprentice, giving you an update on what I have been up to in the last few months.

1. Pendle Hill High School (Bringing)
Being involved in high school scripture is something new and exciting for me. There are three (including me) in the scripture team, and our main contact so far has been with years 8 and 9. Many of students are genuinely interested in God and have a lot of questions to throw at us each week. One class showed such an interest that we have stopped our planned curriculum to instead run a short Two Ways To Live course for them. Within the next few weeks we hope to start a new lunchtime Christian group called Xchange (by the cross we are changed). We are planning to use this as a discussion forum for the BIG QUESTIONS our society presents us. Pray that the Christian students in the school will not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus, and use Xchange to grow themselves and introduce their friends to Jesus. We are also planning some form of casual/non-threatening relational evangelism (possibly in the form of breakfast) weekly to serve the school, and get to know the kids not involved in scripture a little better. Pray for us as we consider how we can best reach and serve the school.

2. One80 (Building)
One80 is the youthgroup for youth in years 6 — 10, which meets on a Friday nights to hear about God & them, meet with friends and have fun. It has been encouraging to see our regulars bringing their friends along one week, and seeing them return the following week. Pray that we will continue to use One80 to help youth grow in knowledge, love and enthusiasm resulting from a real relationship with the living God.

Thanks to those who have been praying for me and my ministry. I am encouraged by your unfailing support. Please continue to pray that God will use me and direct me as I explore his will for me life.

Yours in Christ
