Well, what are you doing Saturday week? 26th June to be precise. Those of us who have been doing the Lifeworks course are having our DAY AWAY. A very pleasant morning at the Sydney rowing club at Abbotsford Point, an even more pleasant lunchtime harbour cruise, afternoon tea back at the Rowing Club and home in time for dinner.
One of the main features of the Lifeworks Course is that it presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the context of the Christian community. The sessions each week are based around a dinner, in which our guests can get to know each other and the members of Toongabbie Anglican Church who invited them, followed by a talk and discussion over supper afterwards.
The Day Away is an extension of this idea of community. All the participants plus the workers, plus friends and spouses are invited to a very pleasant venue for a very relaxed programme of a couple of talks about Prayer and Bible Reading in the morning, and after the lunch-time harbour cruise a Q & A session about anything anybody wants to ask about the Christian faith.
We are inviting you to join us for this day. Come along and meet people from our Church that you havent yet met, get to know our guests and generally relax in a friendly Christian atmosphere.
Sounds idyllic doesnt it? well I assure you that it is. Many have seen our Days Away as the highlight of the Lifeworks programme and are coming back even though they are not involved in the rest of the programme this year.
Cost for the day is only $30 per person or $50 per couple. Unfortunately we cannot cater for children. For details please speak to Neil or myself. Decide now to come. There is room for everyone to come and share in the most delightful way in this important ministry.
