Windana and all things wonderful
Sunday 13 July, 2003 · Posted by Philip Bassett
This week 10 of us from Toongabbie Anglican Church have been part of the Windana Holiday Club taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to children, teenagers and adults. As well as being an important gospel outreach to the community it was a great time of Christian fellowship and, dare I say it, fun.
All too often we limit our Christian service and other activities to participation in events associated with our own church. I do want you to keep this up, but it is extremely beneficial to both yourself and our church for you to be involved in outside Christian ministries.
Things worth considering are missionary societies, or an Anglicare volunteer, beach missions, holiday camps, holiday clubs. In fact there are many ways you can serve, and such service always brings benefits to the servers as well as those being served.
Often we think that such activities are only or mainly for the young, but there are many areas of service for people of all ages. Also we shouldnt limit our Christian ministry to only Christian organizations. There are many organizations in our community that would welcome your contribution.
Besides it beats day-time television.
