Windana holiday mission
Sunday 11 July, 2004 · Posted by Philip Bassett
This week ten people from Toongabbie Anglican Church have been part of the Windana Holiday Mission team at The Hills Sports High School, Seven Hills.
The mission was well attended with over 90 primary aged children, 70 plus infants, 25 to 30 teens and 25 to 30 adults.
Each day the programme ran from about 9:30am to 12 noon with singing, stories, games and craft. The aim was to present the gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ in an enjoyable, fun context.
This year the theme was space and science so many of the activities and songs had a science or space emphasis. One of the highlights of the week was that a number of women in the Womens Craft Group became Christians.
Windana 2004 was definitely an activity well worth our participation and support. Please pray for those ladies who accepted Christ and for the children who attended that the Holy Spirit will cause the seed of faith that was planted to grow and blossom.
Maybe you would like to participate next year.
Starting in a few weeks time is the 2 Ways To Live training course. It is important that we all are equipped to be able to talk about our Christian faith with other people. Perhaps it might be when they ask us about our faith, or why we seem to have different values to them, or why we bother to go to church or any of a whole host of other reasons. 2 Ways to Live is an excellent way of sharing our faith.
