Weekly Blurb Windana

Windana

Sunday 10 July, 2005 · Posted by Philip Bassett

This week I have been, along with a number of others from Toongabbie Anglican Church, and a whole host of others from various local churches, attending Windana Scripture Union Family Mission held at the Hills Sports High School at Seven Hills.

My job on the team is pretty cushy. I get to work the sound and video desk for the primary section which had 80 to 100 children each of the five days. As well as primary age children there were also sections for infants, teenagers, adults and even a crche.

This year, for the first time we had a coffee shop for the adults as well as the usual craft. For the children there were songs, stories, games and crafts. Underpinning or running through all this great activity was the clear presentation of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, under the heading of Meet The King.

As I write this we still have one day, Friday, to go where well have our final stories, songs, crafts and games plus a Grand Finale when everyone will come together to celebrate what we have learnt over the wek.

It is great to see Christians from so many different churches working together to present the gospel to the community. It is encouraging to have everything running well with only minor concerns. I put this down to three reasons:

1. The very able leadership of Timothy and Leah Adams who stepped into the directorship role not long before the event.
2. The enthusiasm and hard work of all the team members.
3. The broad under-girding with prayer of the whole event.

Please continue to pray that the gospel seed planted in peoples hearts during Windana will continue to grow and will bear fruit as lives given to Christ.
