Children

Last updated: 12 July 2008

Toongabbie Anglican Church offers a range of activities for children - both on Sundays and during the week.

On Sunday mornings…

Children are welcome to join the adults at all our church meetings. Quiet activities are provided in ‘Busy Boxes’, placed around the church.

Creche

Crèche is available at our 9:45am meeting for children aged 0-4 years: it gives you a space to hear what’s happening in church while your little one plays with toys or other activities. Our helpers are on hand to assist if need be.

Kids Church

Designed for children in school years K - 5, our kids’ church program runs in parallel with our 9:45am meeting. All children meet together in church with the adults, then move down to the EAC for the two kids’ church groups:

Sparklers is kid’s church for children in school years K - 2. We aim to help kids learn about Jesus from the Bible through a range of fun and engaging activities, songs, crafts, and stories.

Fireworks is a place for kids in years 3 - 5. We learn about God together through games, quizzes, drama, stories, and other fun activities!

For Kids’ Church enquiries, contact Lorien.

During the week…

Kids@Play

Special Religious Education

We also provide trained Scripture teachers for Special Religious Education (SRE) at a number of local primary and high schools. All teachers have been trained in the Child Protection Protocol, and many have had specialist training to better communicate God’s message in the classroom.

Committed to children

Toongabbie Anglican Church is a friendly, caring community, committed to sharing God’s great love for us. Children are very precious gifts from God, and we aim to provide fun, safe, and stimulating programmes where children enjoy being together, feel comfortable, and can learn about God.

All our leaders and helpers have been trained in the NSW Government-approved Child Protection Protocol, and many have had specialist training specific to children’s needs. The church site itself is a ‘Peanut-Free Zone’, in recognition of potential and existing allergies.

We ask all parents and carers to join with us in responsibly caring for your children by filling in a health/contact form at the start of each year. This form is kept confidentially, and is used to better care for your children, remember their birthdays, and keep you informed of activities through mailouts.
